However in today’s world people celebrate this festival as a mark of worshiping their teacher and showing their gratitude and love towards them. Teaching as we know is a very hard job and that is the main reason why Indians celebrate this festival with so much gust and galore.

In different parts of India this festival is celebrated in various ways although the concept has remained the same for all. When a child is growing up the first thing that a parent thinks is how they can educate their child and the best way to do that is by handing the child over to a teacher. In fact in the ancient times the system was such that after a certain period of time children were sent to their guru where they learned, stayed and did all sorts of work for their guru.
The work which they did was supposed to be the token of appreciation because there was no money concept at that time and there was nothing called fees. After the period of education was over, suppose after 10 years or 15 years the disciples returned to their home and implemented what they had learned so far in their day to day life.
